What will be the effect on foreign investors from the EIA Law?

The most direct effect will come form the section of the law that deals with "construction projects". The section includes construction of new facilities, renovation and expansion of existing facilities. The law sets out the requirements regarding an Environmental Impact Assessment: the contents required in an EIA, which entities that may participate in an EIA, ongoing monitoring compliance, allocation of legal responsibility in case of non-compliance.
