The national industry and macroeconomic policies, national interests, including those of enterprises, medical institutions, and the patients; and the maintenance of relative price stability in the drug market, will all be considered when revamping the pricing and price-adjustment process for medicines.
The government authorities did state that premium pricing is allowed in order to encourage the development of new and innovative products. Wholesale and retail prices are set to enable the effective circulation of drugs, prevent excessive markups by middlemen, and control costs to ensure appropriate profits for businesses.
