I have often heard some unflattering things about the Chinese judiciary. What is the quality of the judges like?

Judges who hear IP cases are highly qualified and usually possess a background in science as well as experience in dealing with IP related material. They are amongst the best in the country and because IP is in the international spotlight, these cases are generally administered to an international standard. However it is prudent to bring actions in the big urban courts of Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou where possible where the exposure and expertise of the officials is at its highest level.
