How many kinds of expenses shall a foreigner pay to the local authorities when he/she purchases real estate in Beijing?
When a foreigner purchases real estate in Beijing, he/she shall pay:
1) Stamp tax: 0.03%;
2) Deed tax: for houses within 120 square meters: 2% of the contract amount; for houses beyond 120 square meters: the house will be divided into two parts: the part within 120 square meters shall be charged 2% of the value of this part, the other part that is beyond 120 square meters shall be charged 4% of the remaining value accordingly.
