Lehman, Lee & Xu Attends 2005 Boao Forum (May 16, 2005)

May 16, 2005 - Frank Zhang, senior attorney from Lehman, Lee & Xu was invited to attend the Boao Asia Forum as the only Chinese lawyer from Mainland, China.

Boao Forum took place on April 22-24 in Boao, Hainan, China, with attendance of more than 1200 senior government officials, entrepreneurs and famous scholars from home and abroad to discuss issues concerning energy, monetary policies, internationalization of enterprises and corporate governance.

Government leaders, including Jia Qinglin, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia; Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Prime Minister of Malaysia; Wolfgang Schuessel, Chancellor of Austria; Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, King of Nepal; and Lee Kuan Yew, Minister Mentor of Singapore also attended the forum.

During the conference, Frank Zhang held fruitful discussions with Ruiming Zhang (CEO of Haier), Peter Bakker (CEO of TNT), Alan R.Turley (VP of FedEX), Craig Mundie (VP of Microsoft), Zhao Yong (CEO of Changhong) and top management of many other Chinese and multinational companies.

He also met high-ranking officials and ministers from MOFCOM, SAFE, and the People's Bank of China.  The conference is the most influential event of its kind in Asia and provides a great opportunity for officials, entrepreneurs and scholars to exchange their views and discuss how to achieve a win-win solution for the development of not only Asia, but also the world.
